Muslims Dream Big

Hurm, now when I give myself a second thought, I remember that when I was small I have never dream to be an engineer. Not even An Automotive Engineer. I have a dream once to be a great driver in Formula like Michael Schumacher do or paling koman pun macam bapak aku. But it has nothing to do with Engineer.

But I know and I remember what I want since when I was small. I want to be an oversea student.

But it was never too late to start a dream right? To reconstruct a new path. But the thing is, I never imagine myself as an Automotive Engineer. Like I said before, nothing to do with an engineer. Even now when I know what I am headed for. Well, I don’t know where the future will lead me. But I don’t care as long as I’m happy. Everything else doesn’t matter that much to me.

Mom told me yesterday that I need to have other skills than the engineer does. It’s about what you can offer to others. Like baking, teaching, sewing, singing and the list goes on. And none of the mom’s list caught my interest. Kekeke. Well, you can call me nerd but I know what I love to do. I love learning. Everything that has to do with increasing what I already know I will love it. Everything to do to be a better person I love it. (Well, not everything actually. I hate Biology though. Kekeke.)

I want to learn more languages. I’m completely jealous when I heard someone else fluently speak the language that I couldn’t understand. I believe that language is the key to understand a culture. Well, Malaysian didn’t think the same way that Japanese do. The wonderful thing when we learn more languages is our horizon, the way we see a thing will be more broaden.

Yes. It’s one of my dream since I was little. But what is most important with a dream is, it shouldn’t circulate within us only. Like I said before, we’re not the only living creatures in this tiny world. There are more people out there who might really better than us. It’s just we’re luckier than them that we have things to support our dream. So why not, we can share with them. It’s not ours though. We borrowed them.

And it’s a sign that we’re thankful to Allah. [14:7]

We as a Muslim should dream big and work hard to achieve it.

To sit and dream, to sit and read,
To sit and learn about the world
Outside our world of here and now –
       our problem world –
To dream of vast horizons of the soul
Through dreams made whole,
Unfettered free – help me!
All you who are dreamers, too,
Help me make our world anew.
I reach out my hands to you.

Biar Aku Sahaja

“Boleh tolong aku siket tak?” “Apa dia?” Meski sejak tadi berdiam diri, mulut terkunci sepi, matanya dari tadi menatap susuk tubuh yang duduk di hadapannya. “Berhenti pandang aku macam tu. Berhenti tengok aku macam aku cedera parah. Berhenti tengok aku macam aku orang yang kau kena lindung. Aku ok. Jangan risau.” Dia faham pandangan Ijad. Terasa ingin menangis lagi sekali. “Kau tahu Nas apa buat aku rasa tak guna sekarang?”  Ijad bersuara rendah seolah-olah bercakap dengan diri sendiri. Dia mendiamkan diri. Perlahan tangannya memgang dadanya. Sak...

2020- The Pandemic Year

As we are approaching the end of the year 2020, I find my heart starts to fill with rage and fire again. I'm hurt and angry (probably at God again). I know we all have a hard time this year but we are not exactly in the same boat. As for me, I saw 2020 as a hope, that after everything I went through in 2019, 2020 is going to be fine. At least, that's what I've been telling myself. And now we are already in December, I think I've lied to myself enough. So, let's summarize what happened in the year 2020. First of all, I had a sleep disorder. My sleep problem was terrible and it all started after I came back to Germany. Sometimes, I was getting like 3 hours of sleep in a 24-hour period. This disaster continued on for almost 8 to 9 months. However, this sleep disorder helped me a lot while getting through Ramadhan. So, for the first time since I arrived in Germany, I can follow another version of the prayer calendar, which I believe is more nature convincing. Oh yes, me...

Ask God Now

This thought hit me so hard that I just can't ignore it and start to write again in this blog. You know what, think of the time when you were in trouble. Think of the time when you were sick. Think of the time when nothing went fine. Think of the time when your chest felt as if it would burst any second at any time. And remember how many times you called God to fix the thing for you. Remember how many times you asked God to make the way easy for you. Remember the time you asked God to lend you the strength to walk through the rough and cold season. And how many times did God answer your call? Every time! Each and every time! Some in ways that you can see it with your naked eye and some in ways that you could only understand if you have patience hold inside your soul. See, we are the living proof that God answers every prayer. But there will come a time when our call, our prayers will be ignored. And that's when we know everything is too late. When is that? When we alre...
